San Jose Clinic Pharmacy #9
In preparation for the crazy week before and after Thanksgiving, I went ahead and volunteer two times this week. I finally was able to receive proper credentials to access the RX Assist program and were able to update about 45 patients record, in order to make sure medications are being shipped on schedule. One problem I ran into while working was patients sharing the same last name and first name. The drug company seem to think patient's date of birth is not important, because all I see are their last and first name in the delivery package. So I have to go through multiple files in order to match the drug shipment with the medication that the patient requested. Being here at San Jose Pharmacy has help me in many ways, especially writing my essay for Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. I was able to discuss my involvement with San Jose Clinic and the experience I gained from working here. I feel the Service Learning Project has definitely many positive aspects and would be beneficial to any pre-pharmacy students who are planning to earn some pharmacy experience before stepping into pharmacy school.
